  National Welding Seminar 2010 to be held at Visakhapatnam on 21 - 23 December 2010.  
 
     
   
     
     
 
    National Welding Seminar is the most important annual event of the Indian Institute of Welding, and NWS 2010 aims to provide a conclusive platform for welding professionals and decision makers from industry, academia and research organizations to share and enhance the knowledge of fast-developing science and technology of welding.  
 
  NWS 2010 is being organised in Visakhapatnam – the City of Destiny and home for core sector as well as IT industries. Substantial investments by the government of India have resulted in a sky - high demand of 7 million tons of welding consumables on a projected consumption of a hundred million tons of steel. This is estimated to increase three folds by 2020.  
 
An industrial exhibition will be held concurrently with the NWS 2010 to provide an opportunity to the delegates and visitors to enhance their knowledge and skills with the help of exhibits and live demonstrations of welding and other related industrial products. Participating in the exhibition will thus provide the exhibitors a unique opportunity to showcase their products and technologies.
 
NWS 2010 beckons all professionals and manufacturers of various products to experience the technological fete.
THE INDIAN INSTITUE OF WELDING :
Established in 1966 with its head quarters in Kolkata, today the Indian Institute of Welding (IIW) is the premier professional institute of the country and the only Indian member of the International Institute of Welding, with 4000 individual and 300 industrial corporate members in India and abroad. IIW operates through twelve branches spread across the country. 
 
IIW promotes the advancement of welding science and technology by organizing workshops, seminars, conferences, refresher courses and exhibitions across India. IIW also provides technical guidance and consultancy to the industry and educational institutes and publishes technical journals, periodicals and booklets.
 
 
VISAKHAPATNAM STEEL PLANT :
Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VIZAG STEEL), the corporate entity of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), is the first shore based integrated Steel Plant in the country. The Plant with a rated capacity of 3.0 MT is a producer of steel products in the longs category like wire rods, re-bars, angles, channels, blooms and billets. Presently the plant is going for an expansion from existing 3.0 MT to 6.3 MT.
 
The complex, comprising of tallest of Coke Ovens batteries, large size Blast Furnaces, Converter shops, and high speed rolling mills ensures successful production and delivery of world class products to its customers in India and abroad. It is the first integrated steel plant in India to be accredited with all three International Standards for Quality (ISO 9001), for Environment Management (ISO 14001) and for Occupational Health and Safety (OHSAS-18001).
